21 Weeks 2 Days

How far along? 21 weeks 2 days

Weight gain/loss: Up, up & AWAY! I hate gaining weight :[

Symptoms: Back aches, oh the back aches are so horrible sometimes I just want to cry. I pee lots too.

Maternity clothes? Lets just say I've been struggling to put my jeans on and will definitely not be able to go much longer. :/

Stretch marks? No new ones, just the old ones.

Sleep? It’s the same.

Best moment this week? My mother and I made Laila’s crib skirt. :]

Food cravings: Eh. I’ve noticed that I don’t really have cravings, It’s just whatever I see is what I want.

Gender: A beautiful girl.

Belly button in or out? Innie

Movement? She loves to kick and daddy can feel it now too!

What I miss? Central air and I am really over this whole summer thing. I’m seriously ready for autumn, my favorite season.

What I'm looking forward to: Lots of DIY projects Justin and I are working on. Like, refinishing the dresser we bought off of Craigs Lists, a flowery mobile, possibly no sew curtains and book slings and whatever else I can find.

Milestones: Daddy feeling Laila kick.

What's Laila Up To?

How big is your baby? About the size of a large banana — and speaking of bananas, if you eat one this week, there's a good chance your baby will get a taste, too. That's because she swallows a bit of amniotic fluid each day (for nutrition, hydration, and to practice digesting), so she eats whatever's on your menu — and gets to put those developing taste buds to good use. So go ahead and nosh on those nachos (or crunch those crudités): Your baby may develop a taste for them when she’s older.

20 Weeks & Anatomy Scan

Yesterday Justin and I went to the anatomy scan to see how baby was progressing and what baby was.
Boy or Girl??
I thought boy along with a couple other people, while many many other people thought girl.
Well...
It's a GIRL!!

Her alien face. She's a cutie though.

Her arm and hand.

Her HUGE foot.

Her ring finger, not her middle finger lol

What's Baby Girl Up To?

Curious about whether that melon-sized belly contains a boy or a girl? Now's your chance to take a peek! Your second trimester ultrasound, scheduled for anytime between 18 and 22 weeks, gives your practitioner a chance to see how things are going in there. And, wow, are they going! If you're having a girl, her uterus is now fully formed and her ovaries are holding about seven million primitive eggs. And while your baby is definitely getting bigger (weighing in at about ten ounces and measuring six and a half inches), there's still plenty of growing room in there, which allows her to twist and turn (and allows you to feel her acrobatics!).

19 Weeks 3 Days

How far along? 19 weeks 3 days
Weight gain/loss: Was up 7 pounds at my last appointment, now I’m probably up 10 and it’s all in my face :[
Symptoms: I pee a lot but that has A LOT to do with being kicked in the bladder.
Maternity clothes? Beband sometimes and loving my maternity beaters.
Stretch marks? Previous ones
Sleep? I’ve actually been enjoying my sleep.
Best moment this week? Yesterday was pretty awesome because baby would NOT stop kicking. It actually felt wonderful and I was definitely enjoying it.
Food cravings: Eh. I’ve noticed that I don’t really have cravings, It’s just whatever I see is what I want.
Gender: We find out this Friday. Only a couple more days.
Belly button in or out? Innie
Movement? Lots and lots. I wish daddy could feel it.
What I miss? Central air & autumn. Autumn is my favorite season, call me crazy but I don't enjoy summer too much. Too hot for me. I'm a weird one.
What I'm looking forward to: Anatomy Scan on July 16th
Milestones: Feeling baby kick for the first time and constantly since!

What's Baby Up To?

Have you ever seen a mango dipped in cheese? Well, that's what your baby looks like this week due to a little growth spurt (/she's about a half pound in weight and six inches long) and a substance called vernix caseosa. This greasy white stuff covers your baby's skin, protecting it from the surrounding amniotic fluid. (Without it, s/he'd look totally wrinkled as s/he entered the world.) The vernix sheds as delivery approaches, though some babies still sport a bit of the coating at birth.

****
I seriously can't belive that in just 3 days, Justin and I will find out if our baby is healthy and measuring right on track, not to mention, we also get to find out the sex. Eeek! I've been waiting for this day since I found out I was pregnant.  By that time we can call our baby boy or baby girl by their name instead of always saying 'baby.' It's so exciting.
Hmm..is it December 4th yet?
Nope, didn't think so.

****
Back to my life.
I spent most of my weekend completely cleaning our house and trying to get the smell of dog out of there. One smell I cannot stand is a very distinct dog smell lingering around in a house, and this smell just made me want to vomit. It was everywhere and I could not take it anymore. And we do give out Kenzie girl baths, but then she lays in the same stinky spot once she's clean and gets stinky again. Ya, not cool. So I shampooed EVERYTHING. Yes, everything (that was carpet at least, or rug)
The smell is much much better and doesn't make me want to vomit. Yay.
Justin and I also rearranged our living room to make it more cozy. I lovesss it.

****
Over the weekend Justin and I finally took the weight bench out of the nursery. Now the room is bare with only a crib and dresser...and a ceiling fan that we have yet to put up in the living room (we're getting around to that tonight.) I can't wait to add more things to the room, although there won't be much because that room is tinnyyy. Seriously, with just the cirb and dresser, it feels like that's taking up all the room.

I should post of pic of my belly..it's getting big..but I think I'm still in the stage where people don't know if I'm pregnant or fat haha.

xo.
me.

Jul 6, 2010

1. Slow drivers in the left lane. Bad drivers in general. Help keep our road rage at bay.
I can't stand this! If you want to drive slow, get in the right lane.
2. Chronic lateness. Get a watch, people!
3. Invasion of personal space. Do you not see us one centimeter away?
It's MY space for a reason, now get the hell out of it. Geesh.
4. Bad parkers. There are lines for a reason!
I've noticed guys are even worse at this than women, mainly men with trucks. Just because you have a big truck does NOT mean you get to park like a dumbass and hog two parking spots.
5. Stupid pedestrians. They even give you signs to show you how much time you have.
6. Bad grocery shoppers. Can you please be aware of your cart? Please.
7. People who take the elevator when they should take the stairs. That pertains to you people who work on the second floor.
Walking up some stairs won't hurt you. Excercise is good.
8. Liars. We can handle the truth.
Honestly, sometimes I can't handle the truth.
9. Cat callers. If you want to talk to us, try “hello.”
10. People who litter. Ever heard of a trash can?
11. Non-handicapped people who park in handicapped spots. Reprehensible.
I freaking HATE this.
12. People who look over our shoulders at the ATM. We don’t need you to see our balance.
That has never happened to me, but I never use the ATM.
13. Large groups of sorority girls. Don’t they have their own house?
Honestly, I'm just not a fan of sorority girls all together. Sorry.
14. Crying babies in public. Shut that kid up.
Unless the baby/kid is kicking & screaming in my EAR, than I really don't mind.
15. Talking on a cell phone while in the restroom. Why?
I'm pretty sure I have done that before.
16. The BP oil spill. No further comments necessary.
I feel bad for all the animals. What is wrong with you BP??
17. Sidewalk hogs. There are other people walking!
True True True. People at grocery stores are horrible with this.
18. Chewing with mouth open. Gross.
Agreed.  I don't want to see your food or hear it.
19. Cranking up the car stereo waay too loud. We don’t need to feel the sidewalk pulsating.
I love driving with my music up, windows down, singing along, but when I'm stopped in traffic at a light, I usually turn it down. I hate having to listen to other peoples music at times so I'm sure they don't want to listen to mine.
20. Muffin tops. It’s OK to go up a size. In fact, we suggest that you do.
I really do hate when people wear clothes too small for them..the number really doesn't matter as long as you are healthy.

What's Baby Up To?
Your pregnancy back pain may have you tied up in knots but your baby's getting ready to bust a move. At five and a half inches long and five ounces in weight, s/he now may be large enough for you to feel him twisting, rolling, kicking, and punching his/her way around the womb. Plus, s/he's developing yawning and hiccuping skills (you may feel those soon, too!) and his/her own unique set of toe and fingerprints.
